Our planet appears to be place of harmony and balance. Oceans and mountains, trees, animals, people are living together from the past. Take a look at the dark side. Take a look at spotlights. Yes, it is technology and civilization at every corner of this planet. Our home looks so peaceful at day, with plenty of color, and appears a plenty of place for animals to live in. But look closer, because even under the darkness, there is no place for animals to live their simple lives. Even under the dark black sky, there is a people everywhere, spread like a infection for animal species. This artwork is about that. It is about all endangered species, and about the ones that are becoming endangered every day now. This artwork is a bigger picture about what we do to nature and animals, but we just can't see. Every image of endangered animal, is just a fragment of what is going on right now. Look by yourself, is our world living in harmony as we think?　[Hide]

The Panthera pardus - I am trying to express power and motherly love. The care, the love and the fight for survival. It's not for no reason why I call this image Carefree and the careful. The cub will express curiosity, a hope because it's no different from how human children. In there eyes the world is harmless. However the mother is always powerful and careful. Portrait of a Tiger of Bengal (adult male) painted in Photoshop CS3 with a Wacom Intuos 3 A4. I use to work with a lot of layers for the different levels of the scene or (in this case) the portrait. In this piece, the original PSD has only 8 layers. For example, all the head, except eyes, nose and mouth, is in one layer, with the complicated game of spots and colors painted hair by hair (I hate texture brushes; see WIP 2). The whiskers are in an independent layer and I did use the blur tool on it, the same as all the borders of the head. The eyes has six different colors (green, brown, yellow, black, blue and white) because the big cats have a trully complicated iris, but to obtain it correctly is the key for to obtain the real expressive gesture. I love big cats and I think the tiger is specialy in danger. We should to stop its hunting and to teach the local population to coexist pacefully with those wildlife jewels.　[Hide]
