Goddess of the River
This is a close up of my human character’s face. My chosen animal is the Baiji and I’m going to be submitting under the category Harmony. I’m really excited yay!

I’ve added more detail. This is another close up of the human character. Any criticisms from other artists are really welcome

Hey Amelia, she's looking pretty cool thus far! Any chance of seeing it within context of the whole piece? The colour palette seems to be really cohesive, really like the fact you've got tones of the pink in the creature too. Her necklace feels a little sharp up to the resy of the image (everything else has quite nice softer edges to it)... maybe blending the side in the shadow of her neck so it almost disappears into the same shadow colour would help it feel more natural?

The connection between the two is lovely though, a real sense of love and companionship.

Hi thank you for critiquing my work I will definitely take into account what you said about the necklace and put it in shadow. The finished painting shows the characters swimming through a yellow river with a ceiling of lily pads and lotus’s above them. I’ve put the painting to one side for the moment I thought if I left it and came back to it with fresh eyes I could spot more mistakes. Thanks again for taking the time to critique my work I can’t wait to see what you paint have you chosen an animal yet? Amelia xxx
