work concept & sketch
After I spent so much time on how to tell the story in artwork. I try to think how to make it have a good mening and give a though for viewers.
I've tried to do so many sketchs but in the end i choosed the one that most simple of my sketch. Becuase I want everyone who have seen my work feel most
comfortable by looking this work no matter which age they're.

Sketch
- For the fisrt thing that i need from sketch is to build composition and find an interesting angle. Also I want this work look comfortable to when viewer see my
work and I want this one have an angle and composition that look like it came from nature magazine.

Create a lineart
For this step is necessary at all for some artists but for me that leran to do an illustration by studied from Japanese Illustraion (Manga) so for this step it seem like something that usual for me. But I only do the outline
on main characters that's all. For background I leave it like that 'cuase I want to do coloring without outline to give free brush stroke on it.

Color sketch
Usually I don't like to do color sketch much 'cuase when I finish this part it will looks like finish work for me and that's make me have no motive to continue it anymore(What a wried habit lol). But when I've to do it have to be good.

for this work I want the feeling to look bright & sunshine 'till you can see blue sky and under sea so clearly. Becuase I want to show the two characters in differrence enviroment can be in same world.

Yangtze River Dolphin & WIP
Hello every one :D
I need to change the Dolphin specie following by SOP rule “Focus specie” condition. From sea dolphin to Baiji (name of dolphin). First, I think it’s not too hard “just change all dolphins in picture” But has found some problem after research. Baiji is fresh water dolphin and live at Yangtze River China. So, My first picture need to renew all because this old one have Mediterranean background.

Baiji have favorite nickname is “Goddess of the Yangtze” & When more research I found something that make me to be touched. Baiji was declared "functionally extinct" in 2006. So in this competition I’ll do for Baiji as a memorable for them.

In August 2007have reported that there were a large white animal swimming in Yangtze River and had been confirm that it was Baiji. I’m really hope it isn’t the last Baiji appear to bid farewell to us.

WIP1: Environment
After done new line art. I quick painting on background for make direction of picture, surrounding, light flow from river surface. I add some little sub-compose as a group of small silver fish also. Think they will help about movement of picture.

WIP2: Coloring the Baiji
I use multiply layer mode make shadow volume. For do easy work on they duotone color skin. The next is direct light from above that reflect on Baiji skin. On this step is make simply light guide line for every follow details.

Yangtze Angel WIP#1
Hello everyone :D
I’ve redraw this work. ‘cause I want to get more freely feeling on this work. I thought my old one I am got too stress on water & surrounding environments. So I need find new idea for my work. Finally I got it when I think about water color painting style. “When the ink drop to water” that is my keyword. We can see how current of water flowing direction. I do same way for other fish too, Try to make transference “Koi” (name of Carp in Chinese name) following by water current. Over all image feeling seem like to clearly now, next process is work on main character.

Thank you for viewing, any C&C are open

Yangtze Angel WIP#2
While coloring Baiji I found problem in background. Other fish that surrounding center character they a bit hard to see. So I try add more feeling of water and leave white highlight in only foreground fish.

See you next my WIP :D

Waaaa I like this new composition better ^^. I was thinking in redrawing some characters on mine, but I wasn't too sure about it, then I saw this and you completely re-did everything, which makes me think I should go ahead and just do it like I had planned, in order to give a better feeling of movement :) Keep it up.

Hello all, :D
For now I think all character are nearly done, But I have new worry about upper side picture it look seem too much space (again… first at down side, now is up). Maybe I should add bubbles or some small fish will help it look better ( or maybe not lol.. ) ..now I am counting on them!!

Thank you for viewing, any C&C are open

In your former wip works, there is a whirlpool in upper space. In my mind, it not only enriches the work, but also can implicate a story. It brings me the imagination.

Hi Sinad, looking beautiful here! The new composition does have a great dynamic flow and movement to it. May I suggest making the bottom area darker and gradually gets lighter towards the surface at the top? So that there will be a nice contrast on the figures against the background. Liking this so far. Keep going! :-)
