This is the first time CG technique specifically used for wildlife illustration.
This is an art banquet without boarders for CG artists,
This is a commonweal event that has been held in the field of CG art...
In order to gain a deeper understanding of the significance of the competition, we invited Zheng Yuan, organizer of ”Share One Planet” event, to state his point of view:
LeewiART as an international leading computer graphics (CG) art promotion organization, is fortunate to become host of this event. We believe that the combination of art and computer will be an integral part for the global fine art field. There are various forms and approaches to create art with this technique and it’s a much more efficient way to create art comparing to traditional art forms. CG allows artists to create premium commercial commissions within short time. We can call it a "by-all-means" art form. Imagination, innovation and connotation of the work are the main focus for CG artists and that also raise a harsh standard when it comes to judging CG art.
Therefore, we have been expanding brand new creation grounds for CG artists. We think creation should be combined with themes that reflect the times we are living and common problems that all human being are facing. Such as the “2008 Common Ground International New Media Mobile Exhibition on Environmental Protection” held in Beijing and this wildlife protection CG art elites invitational competition, are both based in the field of environmental protection.
Environmental destruction is showing an increasing impact on planet Earth. The damage human beings caused to the environment within the recent one hundred years is even severe than the ones cumulated for thousands of years. The rapid development of technology and endlessly expanding selfish desire are the reasons behind. Sometimes it just seems to be a very small behavior of a single individual, however, if they all added up together, which may cause many species’ extinction and countries’ disappearance. Have you ever thought of polar bear wandering between disappearing icebergs, or human being crying out when they lost their home to the rising sea.... the world has come to the threshold of survival or destruction. I think no matter in what time, art works always evoke the kindness and hope lay in human kind. Art may not be able to change politics or to improve the environment, but it has influence over everyone's soul. So here I suggest all artists: Light the torch of human hope using your art works!
